Late Guy Secunderabad Shalimar Express Finally Reaches Its Destination

SC - SHM Exp coming in | © Soumo's Railways
Today's railfanning session at SHM & PDPK was a dumb one. All the SRC P4s graced the morning trains and I was not much interested to capture them. These SRC P4s are pretty common at my part and I find them not always interesting to capture. Secondly it was cloudy and humid, and was thus uncomfortable.

I was looking for the 22850 Secunderabad Shalimar SF express which was scheduled to reach Shalimar by 09:05 hrs (Saturday arrival only).

Though NTES was showing the train late by 1+ hours, it predicted somewhat right time of arrival at Shalimar. I guess it was expecting to make up the delay at the 'Kharagpur Santragachi section'. However it was about 45 minutes late when it came in around 0945 AM. I felt like it was not at all in a hurry and was crawling smoothly. The train was being hauled by a SRC-Santragachi WAP4 locomotive no. 22645 (yes, this too was a SRC WAP4). The video was shot at PDPK-Padmapukur Railway station, and details of the same can be found at the RF data log below.

Have a great day everyone and I wish you a very happy weekend.

[2-in-1] Powerful WAG9 Loco Compilation - Green Hulks From Bhilai And Gomoh

Gomoh WAG9-H on KHAI bridge | © Soumo's Railways
Happy April and happy Easter everyone. Hope you all are doing well and enjoying the long holiday weekend.

In this first post of April, find a mega compilation (see the video link below, or here) of two freight trains hauled by India's most powerful locomotive till date, the "WAG9" from loco sheds of Bhilai (BIA, loco no. 31039) and Gomoh (GMO, "WAG9-H" variant - loco no. 31323) respectively.

Recently I had a nice time watching trains at the KHAI or Khirai railway station of South Eastern Railway zone. It is a small beautiful station surrounded by beautiful flower plantation fields. Khirai is a very popular railway station for railfanning among local railfans of "South (West-) Bengal", but I find it somewhat inconvenient as only one line(-s) can be observed at a certain point; nevertheless the station is a great location to observe trains.

Watch the compilation of the WAG9 locos here:

Having crossed 10k subscribers on YouTube recently, I had the oppertunity to unlock the "Community" area of my YouTube channel.

While I was experimenting there for last two days and made some initial basic posts, I felt that segment a very useful space which can be used to interact with all of you.

Feel free to comment and be in touch; also feel free to say - 'Hi' you have visited my channel. The other social media handles and this blog will continue to be updated as usual.
