Construction Work In Progress At Kolkata Shalimar (SHM) Railway Station

So my home station, "Kolkata Shalimar (SHM)" of SER, is getting some serious infrastructure update and is to become a major railway station in days to come.

Located on the west bank of the Hooghly River, Shalimar was or still is relatively a small station with just two functional platforms and a third one built recently. However it houses an important railway yard that handels a huge amount of cargo for Kolkata and the region.

The passenger/ station area is quite beautiful and peaceful and is a favourite place for many morning walkers, including me!
